A few months ago, Juice Labs published an awesome Chart Chooser for helping people decide which type of chart or graphic to use in their presentations. The only thing I didn't like about it was that they used Powerpoint and Excel for all of the charts. I use R (specifically ggplot) for presentation graphics, so I thought I would port thier chart chooser over to R. It's sort of a rosetta stone for Excel to R plots.
I used this tutorial by Stewart Doxey to handle the filtering and animations. It's really easy to follow.
Before you get started you'll want to install ggplot2 and reshape2 for the plots and xtable and hwriter for the tables.
